Successful completion of 10th standard (Secondary School Certificate) or equivalent from a recognised board.
Some institutions may prefer 10+2 (Senior Secondary) with Maths/Science, depending on how technical the networking course is.
Minimum age (e.g., 17 or above) may apply at some places.
Good basic knowledge of computers (hardware + software) is often expected.

On successful completion of the Diploma in PC Networking, a learner should be able to:

Understand network architectures (LAN, WAN, MAN), network models (OSI, TCP/IP) and basic network protocols.
Design, install, configure and maintain computer networks (wired and wireless) using appropriate network devices (hubs, switches, routers, NICs).
Implement network addressing (IPv4, IPv6), subnetting, routing, switching concepts and basic network services (DHCP, DNS, etc.).
Understand and apply network security basics — firewalls, VPNs, encryption, access control.
Use network troubleshooting techniques and tools to identify, diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance and security issues.
Carry out network cabling, installation of network infrastructure, configuring network operating systems, and provide support for network-based systems.
Be job-ready for roles such as network support technician, junior network administrator, PC/network installer, help-desk for network infrastructure.
